The Bears have signed rookie safety Craig Steltz to a four-year deal, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Steltz signed the deal last week that included a $445,907 signing bonus and could be worth close to $3 million. He has the chance to make as much as $1.2 million in 2011 based on escalators that include his percentage of participation and number of interceptions.
"Craig's a throwback ... he plays hard and with a lot of pride," agent Bill Johnson said of Steltz. "He's equally outstanding off the field. I'm crazy about him, and Bears fans will be too."
